THE PRACTICAL GUIDE

From job search to comparing an offer

Organise applications, check sponsorship and compare take-home pay.

By UKpedia24Sources checked: 2026-09-20

Start with a real vacancy

Tailor your CV to the requirements and record the original advert, application date and employer. A sponsor licence does not mean the vacancy offers sponsorship or fits your circumstances.

Compare the whole offer

Look at base pay, hours, location, pension and commuting. Read the written offer and distinguish gross salary from estimated take-home pay.

  • Verify the employer’s website and original advert.
  • Ask specifically about sponsorship when relevant.
  • Use the pay estimate, then your living budget.
  • Track applications and follow up thoughtfully.

A job title is not enough

Duties and route requirements matter more than a marketing title. If you need a visa route, check current official requirements and the employer’s written commitments.

Sources and next step

Local rules can differ. Consult the source for your part of the UK before acting.
