Build the budget in layers
Start with the application charge for each person, then IHS where applicable, then available optional services. Keep translation, tests, centre services, flights and housing separate to avoid double counting.
Duration and age matter
The calculator distinguishes adults and children and uses permission duration in months. Some routes have a different health rate or an exemption. Work application fees may depend on sponsorship duration, which has its own input.
Use the result appropriately
Treat the output as an initial budget and compare it with the official charge during application. Indicative currency conversion may differ from payment rates and bank fees. Financial evidence requirements are not the same as fees paid to government.
